The front row of the 25-lap A-Main would be composed of Big Game sprinters as Dollansky lined up alongside teammate Sammy Swindell. With Swindell taking the early lead, Dollansky ran second until the first caution on lap 11. Running on the inside for the double-file restart, the Elk River, Minnesota native lost the runner-up spot to Kerry Madsen and ran third before another yellow four circuits later. Moved up to the front row after the #1 was called for jumping the start, Dollansky didn’t get a very good restart as the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products backed sprinter lost a position. In the remaining laps Dollansky battled with Steve Kinser and crossed the checkered flag in 4th.
“We had a good solid night going but gave up track position in the feature because we couldn’t get our motor to take off on the restarts,” commented the driver of the #7 who holds 4th in the World of Outlaws points standings just 54 points back. “We had the same problem this time of year last year. Hopefully we can get the issue solved soon, we’re going to be in this hot bad air for the next few months.”
Action continues tonight at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.
