Set to go with 27 drivers signed into the pit area, Dollansky tightened the belts for the fifteenth time at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park registering the 11th fastest lap in qualifying at 16.787 seconds to earn a front row starting spot for heat competition. After powering to his series-leading 23rd heat race victory of the 2013 season to transfer into the dash, the Elk River, Minnesota native lined up inside row five and gained two positions in the 6-lap dash.
In the 25-lap A-Main the Aggressive Hydraulics #7 started inside row four. After a great opening to the main event saw ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ gain three spots before a caution by lap 5, Dollansky continued to make headway racing past Daryn Pittman a couple laps later. Working the long way around the 5/8-mile by way of the highside, the MobileStar Maxim narrowed the gap on the leaders navigating through lapped traffic as the laps clicked off before taking the checkered flag with a solid 3rd place podium finish.
“We didn’t get ourselves qualified as well as we would liked to but we were able to get into the dash and pick up a row,” commented Dollansky who runs 5th in the championship standings. “We had some good momentum going before that first caution that I didn’t want to see. After that we got going pretty good again but ran out of time catching the top-two cars that started on the front row, we were running right with them at the end but ran out of laps.”
