Marlar’s win as easy as 1 (start at track), 5 (wins in 2018), 7 (Series wins all-time)!

PORT ROYAL, PA – August 18, 2018 – Being that it’s his first full year on the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series tour, it makes sense that there’s a few tracks on the schedule where it’s fair to say Mike Marlar is not the most experienced driver in the pit area. Prior to Saturday night’s event, Marlar had never raced at the Port Royal Speedway. But he walked out of the night a winner – something not a lot of drivers can say they’ve done the first time they visited a new racetrack.

PORT ROYAL, PA – August 18, 2018 – After a two-hour rain delay, the Outlaws finally hit the track for the $10,000-to-win feature event that saw Mike Marlar win his fifth race of the year over defending Series Champion Brandon Sheppard and Devin Moran. Leading 36 of the 40 laps, Marlar nearly lost his lead at one point going into turn three, scrubbing the wall trying to get around lapped traffic. But Marlar faught hard to keep it under control for a handful of laps more to bag his 7th career Outlaw win in his very first start at the Port Royal Speedway.

Rain Crashes PA Party Race #1

MECHANICSBURG, PA — Aug. 17, 2018 — Mother Nature has uninvitedly joined up again with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series for the second event of a four-day stretch of races throughout the eastern United States. Afternoon thunderstorms settled over Williams Grove Speedway, and Friday night’s event has been cancelled. A suitable makeup date could not be found, so the event will not be rescheduled. The Series does, however, have plans to return to the facility in 2019.

Madden Cashes In on Fulton Bank 40

In the Series’ second-ever visit to the track, Madden leads flag-to-flag and increases his points lead over Marlar and Sheppard

GEORGETOWN, DE – August 16, 2018 – The first of a four-race weekend started out just as planned for Series points leader Chris “Smoky” Madden, as he picked up his seventh victory of the season Thursday night at the Georgetown Speedway. In short, Madden was strong throughout the event. Winning his heat race and re-drawing the outside pole, he took the lead on lap one of the feature and never looked back, leading every lap of the Fulton Bank 40 on his way to another $10,000 payday.

GEORGETOWN, DE – August 16, 2018 – Chris Madden went wire-to-wire over 40 laps to pick up his seventh win of the season and slightly increased his points lead over Mike Marlar and Brandon Sheppard. After winning his heat race and re-drawing the outside pole, Madden took the lead on lap one and never looked back. Rick Eckert posted his best finish of the season in second, after winning his heat race. Brandon Sheppard followed suit in his heat race, re-drew third and completed the podium after 40 laps.

World of Outlaws to Debut at Outlaw Speedway in September

CONCORD, NC — August 13, 2018 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series will make its inaugural visit to Outlaw Speedway on Friday, September 21, as part of the New York track’s two-day Fall Nationals. A 50-lap feature will determine who takes home the $10,000 paycheck and bragging rights for the Series debut.

A deluge of overnight showers and thunderstorms at Farley Speedway (IA), has forced Series and track officials to cancel the $10,000-to-win Farley 50. A suitable makeup date could not be found, so the event will not be rescheduled.

The fast 3/8s-mile high-banked dirt oval of Cedar Lake Speedway (WI) located just across the Minnesota / Wisconsin state line and northeast of Minneapolis, MN in New Richmond, WI were the hosts for the 100-lap main event of the weekend. Defending series champion, Brandon Sheppard took home the big payday as the New Berlin, IL standout grabbed the lead away from Jimmy Owens on lap 23 and would hold off Brian Shirley to pick up his second victory in a row, sweeping the weekend at Cedar Lake, his 11th series Feature Win of the season and 35th of his Outlaws career.
