After winning at Heartland Park Topeka for the second time in his career last season, a bounty was placed on two-time defending Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Donny Schatz. The series returned to the Kansas track on Saturday night for the second annual Thunder at the Heartland, which was postponed by rain last month.

Haudenschild took the lead for the first on the 18th lap, charging around Dollansky in traffic in turn four. Haudenschild caught him again on the 24th lap and took the top spot.
