JOHNNY’S FIVE:
David Gravel
Why: Until proven otherwise, number one on this list every week. The defending champ is doing historical things. Two of King David XLI’s eight Eldora wins came last year, including one at this event.
Donny Schatz
Why: No, the switch to Chevy hasn’t immediately produced marked improvement. But how does six podiums, including four second-place runs, in his last seven starts at Eldora sound?
Sheldon Haudenschild
Why: Sheldon got his first win of the season last week at Tri-State Speedway. Can the resulting momentum put him back in Victory Lane at the track where the name “Haudenschild” is spoken with a certain reverence? Sheldon won the opening night of #LetsRaceTwo last year.
Logan Schuchart
Why: Logan has six career Eldora wins. He finished in the top five both nights of this event last year, including a charge from 24th in the opener.
Greg Wilson
Why: IF he shows up, IF he qualifies for the Feature, 2015 World of Outlaws Eldora winner, Greg Wilson, is capable of running in the top five from ANY starting position.
