Brad Sweet Sends Sellout Knoxville Raceway Crowd into Pandemonium with Thrilling Knoxville Nationals Triumph

KNOXVILLE, IA – August 11, 2018 – Brad Sweet forever etched his name in the history books, edging 10-time Knoxville Nationals Champion Donny Schatz by 0.133 seconds in the second closest finish in the 58-year history of the event. A Green-White-Checkered finish brought the sellout crowd to their feet with Sweet remaining loyal to the bottom and Schatz pounding the cushion. As the NAPA Auto Parts, Kasey Kahne Racing No.49 crossed the line in front of Schatz, the city of Knoxville erupted with positive emotion in celebration of a new winner. Kyle Larson led Lap 28 and 29, but settled for third to land on the podium for the second consecutive year.

KNOXVILLE, IA – August 8, 2018 – Greg Hodnett got the early jump and never looked back to score Night One of the 5-Hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals for the Pennsylvania Posse. Tim Shaffer threw everything he had for the lead, but settled for second with Kyle Larson, who ended the night as the high point guy, settling for third.

Brock Zearfoss hit the eight-car invert for the Feature perfectly, earning the pole for the 25-lap Feature in his first Knoxville Nationals appearance, which set up an all-Pennsylvania front row.

KNOXVILLE, IA – August 1, 2018 – Due to the increased amount of generosity what was scheduled to be just a live auction, in benefit for the Johnson Family, will now also include a silent auction. In conjunction with the 5-Hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway, the auction will be held on Friday, August 10th from 9am-12pm in Dyer Hudson Hall at the Marion County Fairgrounds. All proceeds will be donated to the family of the 2016 Knoxville Nationals Champion Jason Johnson, Bobbi and five-year-old son Jaxx.
