RACE REPORT: Schatz Wins the Arnold Motor Supply “Shootout” at the Clay County Fair

Donny Schatz didn’t recognize Clay County Fair Speedway when he walked through the pit gates on Wednesday afternoon. The last time he had raced at the track located in Spencer, Iowa was over 10 years ago, when the then sprawling half-mile was predominately used for horse racing. He took a quick liking to the new 3/8-mile high-banked surface on Wednesday night as he claimed his 15th A-Feature win of the season in the Arnold Motor Supply “Shootout” at the Clay County Fair before a crowd of well over 7,000 spectators.

RACE REPORT: Schatz Wins at Heartland Park Topeka

Donny Schatz was the first winner at the permanent 3/8-mile track at Heartland Park Topeka in 2001, after the World of Outlaws had competed a couple of times on a temporary track constructed on the drag strip of the state-of-the-art facility. In the World of Outlaws return to Heartland Park Topeka on Friday night for the first time since 2002, Schatz became the first repeat winner, earning $10,000 for picking up his second consecutive victory this week.

RACE REPORT: Pittman Wins at Charter Raceway Park

Daryn Pittman said on Friday night after finishing third at Heartland Park Topeka that his car was not good enough to win and that his team would work hard over the next two days to find the winning combination. They certainly found it on Sunday night, as he had the dominant car at Charter Raceway Park, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, leading all 40 laps en route to his fifth A-Feature victory of the season.

RACE REPORT: Pittman Wins at Orange County Fair Speedway

Mother Nature won the first round at Orange County Fair Speedway this season back in May when the World of Outlaws came to town, but Daryn Pittman won round two, in convincing fashion, as the series returned to the sprawling 5/8-mile track on Wednesday night to make up that event which was postponed by rain.

RACE REPORT: Schatz WIns National Open

Donny Schatz was all smiles on Friday night, after charging to a fourth-place finish on the opening night of the 45th Annual National Open at Williams Grove Speedway. After all, he had started 21st in the preliminary feature after timing in just 26th quickest in time trials, en route to locking himself into the pole position of the fourth heat in the finale. Those smiles carried over to Saturday night, as he dominated the 40-lap main event, leading from start to finish, picking up the $50,000 win.

Jason Solwold had been waiting a long time to win a World of Outlaws A-Feature event. After being close on several occasions this season, as well as winning two preliminary features last year, he left no doubt on Friday night at Charter Raceway Park, leading all 40 laps to capture the $10,000 win in the finale of the “SuperClean Summer of Money” on ESPN2.

Knoxville, IA — The Summer of Donny rolled on Saturday night when Donny Schatz dominated the 47th Annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals Presented By Factory Value Parts at Knoxville Raceway.

Schatz survived a couple of tense moments with Terry McCarl on Lap 18 before surging to a huge lead and driving away with his second consecutive title — and $150,000 — in sprint car racing’s biggest event.

Daryn Pittman knew it would be no easy task to win at Nodak Speedway on Tuesday night in the Magic City Showdown. He knew that the man to beat was reigning World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz, who was born and raised in Minot, and was fresh off his second consecutive Knoxville Nationals win last Saturday night. On top of that, Schatz began the night by blistering the existing track record in time trials by over three-tenths of a second.
