Through 50 laps he skillfully worked the half-mile Knoxville Raceway to hold the fast line and fend off challenges. Though Danny Lasoski and Kerry Madsen made attempts, Schatz was in a league all his own.

With pyrotechnics ablaze behind him, Schatz stood on the back of his No. 15 Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance/J&J Auto Racing car and celebrated among his team members, friends and family and again claimed the $150,000 Knoxville Nationals prize.

By Joshua Joiner, WoO LMS PR

BUDDS CREEK, Md. – Aug. 14, 2015 – Josh Richards is making the most of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series’ visit to the Mid-Atlantic region.

Richards, the three-time WoO LMS champion from Shinnston, W.Va., raced to his second victory in as many nights Friday evening at Potomac Speedway, leading all but the opening lap of the Gunter’s Honey 50 to earn $10,700 in the second leg of the national tour’s three-race Mid-Atlantic weekend.

Starting from the sixth position, Richards, 27, survived contact in an opening-lap scramble before charging ahead of outside polesitter Morgan Bagley of Longview, Texas, to take the lead on lap two. After holding off a mid-race challenge from Rick Eckert of York, Pa., Richards pulled away for much of the second half of the race before again turning Eckert back amid traffic during the final five circuits.

Kevin Swindell was transported to an area hospital for evaluation following a crash at the start of his heat race

KNOXVILLE, Iowa – Aug. 13, 2015 – Night two of the FVP Knoxville Nationals was dominated by two of the track’s most prolific drivers, Danny Lasoski and Terry McCarl, who mixed it up throughout Thursday’s 25-lap A main.

McCarl, who has one World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory this season, charged forward from a ninth place starting position and took advantage of a mid-race restart and a slip-up by Lasoski to take the lead and ultimately the win for his No. 24 Country Builders/TheSnowPlow.com team.

“Danny was checking out there and I was slowly reeling in Jason there – I kind of didn’t want the caution because it took a couple of laps to get going,” McCarl said. “I had not been on the top once but I knew Danny and Jason were running there good. I kind of saw where Danny ran the restart before and I felt really good but I didn’t nail it perfect and he got away from us there and then the yellow came out and that gave me another opportunity there.

Shane Stewart Kicks Off FVP Knoxville Nationals with Qualifying Night 1 Win

Donny Schatz leads the event standings after quick time and second place finish

KNOXVILLE, Iowa – Aug. 12, 2015 – Shane Stewart’s bid for his first ever FVP Knoxville Nationals title got off to a smashing start Wednesday night at Knoxville Raceway as he led wire-to-wire and held off Donny Schatz on a late restart to score the qualifying night victory.

Stewart, who came into the night with two straight wins, said he learned a lot at Sunday’s Capitani Classic at Knoxville. The experience helped as he maneuvered through traffic in the 25-lap feature.

“It’s all about momentum here and you’ve got to keep your speed up,” Stewart said. “Anytime you slow down it allows the guys behind you to catch up or the guy in front of you to pull away.”

As much as momentum and traffic were on his mind tonight, Schatz may have occupied a larger space.
