Dollansky Charges Past Meyers to Claim 8th Win of 2011

Elk River, Minn. native uses high side to power past series points leader

ALGER. Wash. — Sept. 2, 2011 — Craig Dollansky and his Big Game Treestands team are back in victory lane after a month of hard fought battles and frustrations. Having come off their 7th win of the season in the grueling Ironman 55 at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo. Before the 51st Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, the team tried some different combinations when it came to their setup and the results just didn’t match up their prior success. With the Outlaws kicking off their second West Coast swing, the team returned to their winning combination and picked up their 8th win of 2011.

EDMONTON, Alberta – Aug. 27, 2011 – As he rolled out of turn four at Castrol Raceway on Saturday night after clearing the scales, Cody Darrah’s crew greeted him with shouts and fists in the air. Darrah just held off 20-time champion Steve Kinser and Kasey Kahne Racing teammate Brad Sweet for the second World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory of his career. Series points leader gets second victory in a row in Canada; Schatz second

EDMONTON, Alberta — Aug. 26, 2011 — Jason Meyers was the quickest man by far on the first night of a two day show at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In the process of setting Quick Time, Meyers broke the four year old track record by turning in a lap of 12.653 around the 3/8ths mile oval. RAPID CITY, S.D. – Aug. 23, 2011 – Donny Schatz had a bullet when the green flag flew on the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series return to Black Hills Speedway. The four-time champion was sitting on the pole and powered forward to lead all 25 laps, slicing his way through traffic while holding off his Tony Stewart Racing teammate Steve Kinser, to claim his sixth win of the season and third in a row at Black Hills.

Brady Smith Sweeps To Victory In First-Ever World of Outlaws Late Model Series Stop At Michigan’s Merritt Raceway

LAKE CITY, MI – Aug. 20, 2011 – Brady Smith scrawled his name all over Saturday night’s first-ever World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at Merritt Raceway.

The 34-year-old driver from Solon Springs, Wis., was perfect at the quarter-mile oval, sweeping the program in convincing fashion. He set fast time, won a heat race and dominated the Lane Automotive/All-Star Performance 50 from start-to-finish.

Smith was never seriously challenged en route to his first WoO LMS triumph since Feb. 13, 2010, at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. It was his fourth career triumph overall on the national tour.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Aug. 19, 2011 —Tony Stewart Racing teammates Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz waged an epic back and forth battle for the checkers at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D. Neither driver was able to gain a clear advantage on the other and the 40 lap main event came down to the final turn. With Schatz riding high, Kinser dove to the bottom in turn four and powered past to claim victory by little over a tenth of a second.

West Virginia Star Will Attempt To Tie Tour’s Consecutive Win Record On Saturday Night At Michigan’s Merritt Raceway

ROTHBURY, MI – Aug. 19, 2011 – Josh Richards of Shinnston, W.Va., rolled to his third straight victory on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, dominating Friday night’s inaugural ‘Keyser Manufacturing 50’ before a standing-room-only crowd at Winston Speedway.

The two-time defending series champion made short work of the field, vaulting forward from the fifth starting spot to grab the lead from Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky., on lap 14. He wasn’t challenged the remainder of the distance en route to a triumph worth $10,875.

Richards Repels Eckert For Second Straight World of Outlaws Late Model Series Victory Monday At Independence Motor Speedway

INDEPENDENCE, IA – Aug. 8, 2011 – Josh Richards of Shinnston, W.Va., backed up his USA Nationals triumph in fine fashion, closing a three-race World of Outlaws Late Model Series swing through the Upper Midwest with a victory in Monday night’s 50-lap A-Main at Independence Motor Speedway.

The two-time defending series champion’s sixth win of 2011 came just two days after he pocketed $50,000 for capturing his first-ever crown-jewel dirt Late Model event at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis.

Richards, 23, survived a late-race scare to top the inaugural WoO LMS event at the three-eighths-mile Independence oval. After pacing the race from the initial green flag, he slipped out of the groove off turn four on lap 36, allowing WoO LMS points leader Rick Eckert of York, Pa., to dive underneath and lead the circuit.
