STRONGSTOWN, PA – July 26, 2011 – Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky., rediscovered his winning form on a milestone night for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, capturing Tuesday’s ‘Laurel Highlands 40’ at Dog Hollow Speedway.

The 41-year-old star ended a nearly three-month checkered-flag drought in a memorable way, inking his name in the record book as the winner of the 300th A-Main contested by the national tour since it was reincarnated in 2004 under the World Racing Group banner.

Refusing to concede defeat after being overtaken for the lead midway through the World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Wild West Tour’ finale, Clanton mounted a stirring rally to outduel Darrell Lanigan and snap a 37-race winless streak on the national tour.

Shaffer Wins Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Thriller for Second Time

Blaney captures opening segment as former track champs sweep twin features 

SARVER, Pa. – July 19, 2011 – Tim Shaffer chased down Steve Kinser from the 17th-starting position Tuesday night in the second of two World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Don Martin Memorial Twin 30s at Lernerville Speedway, then slipped past him and charged to the checkered flag to win the event for the second time in his career.

Shaffer, the 1993 Lernerville champion from Aliquippa, Pa., also took the checkered flag in 2005. He finished second in the first 30-lap segment to 1991 Lernerville champion Dale Blaney, of Hartford, Ohio. The two split $30,000 for winning each segment in front of absolutely packed grandstands.

Walker Surges to Wild Kings Royal Victory at Eldora Speedway

Swindell leads all but final lap in unbelievable World of Outlaws finish 

ROSSBURG, Ohio – July 16, 2011 – Everything was going Sammy Swindell’s way on Saturday night in the $50,000-to-win Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway … until the final corner. Swindell had the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series crown jewel event locked up when suddenly his right rear tire went down as he exited Turn 4 en route to the checkered flag. The huge crowd was stunned as it watched Tyler Walker shoot past a helpless Swindell to win.

After winning his heat to land on the pole for the main event, then lead 39 of the 40 laps, Swindell managed to salvage second in the Big Game Treestands Maxim with Paul McMahan in third in the HR Cattle/Roth Motorsports Maxim, but it was little solace to the three-time World of Outlaws champion from Germantown, Tenn.

McCreadie Snaps Year-Long World of Outlaws Late Model Series Victory Drought In Dramatic ‘Wild West Tour’ Event At River Cities

GRAND FORKS, ND – July 15, 2011 – ‘Top Side Timmy’ is back.

Tim McCreadie flashed vintage form on Friday night, snapping a year-long victory drought on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series with a dramatic, cushion-pounding drive to the checkered flag in the 50-lap ‘Wild West Tour’ A-Main at River Cities Speedway.
 
McCreadie, 37, of Watertown, N.Y., began running the extreme outside lane of the high-banked, quarter-mile oval midway through the race and proceeded to vault forward. He passed Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, Wis., for the lead on lap 31 and spent the remainder of the distance battling to stay out front in an event that saw four drivers in contention for the win on the final lap.

Shaffer Charges to Thrilling Eldora Victory, Sets Stage for Kings Royal

Runner-up Meyers reclaims World of Outlaws Sprint Car points lead over Schatz 

ROSSBURG, Ohio – July 15, 2011 – Tim Shaffer had a nearly unbeatable car for most of the Knight Before the Kings Royal Friday at famed Eldora Speedway. In the final World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event before the huge $50,000-to-win Kings Royal, Shaffer started from the pole, slid backwards then dueled with Jason Meyers until Shaffer finally pulled away down the stretch.

Shaffer, of Aliquippa, Pa., captured the dash and worked around Meyers, the defending World of Outlaws champion, on Lap 15 of the 30-lap A-main. The two drivers then thrilled the packed grandstands with a daring and breathtaking show for the fans.
