Sides Shooting for First Top 10 at FVP Knoxville Nationals This Week

Inside Line Promotions – PEVELY, Mo. (Aug. 11, 2015) – Jason Sides is ready for the biggest event of the season this week.
Sides enters the 55th annual FVP Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store, which is hosted by Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, this Wednesday through Saturday, with high expectations.

“This is the toughest event of the year,” he said. “It pays the most money and draws the best racers so when you do well at the Knoxville Nationals you’ve had to earn it. We’ve made the main event in the past and I know we can do that again this year. That’s the first goal.”

Sides is slated to compete in preliminary competition this Wednesday to open the premier sprint car event.

Saldana and Motter Team Ready for Battle at the Knoxville Nationals

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 11, 2015) – Sprint car racing fans can rejoice as the crown jewel of sprint car racing, the Knoxville Nationals, is about to begin. The Knoxville Nationals is the Indy 500 for sprint car teams and a huge crowd is expected at Knoxville Raceway for the event that begins Wednesday, Aug. 12.

With well over 100 entrants on the list, it seems the man to beat is Donny Schatz,
winner of the Knoxville Nationals in eight of the past nine years, with 2010 being the exception.

But the key to being a successful racer is to believe in yourself. Most, if not every driver that will hit the dirt for the Knoxville Nationals, believe that Donny Schatz is a great racer, has a great team, but is not invincible.

Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) driver Donny Schatz added two more podium finishes to his 2015 World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series stat sheet during the Outlaws’ Ironman 55 weekend at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 near St. Louis. Tony Stewart Racing: Donny Schatz Ironman 55 World of Outlaws Advance

INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 5, 2015) – There has been no doubt who the strongest team has been throughout this year’s rugged World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series campaign. Tony Stewart-Curb Agajanian Racing’s (TSR) Donny Schatz and his Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance team have earned 21 victories in the first 52 races and have finished first or second in the last 18 consecutive full-points-paying WoO A-Feature events.

The next challenge for the reigning WoO champions during Sprint car racing’s richest month is the seventh annual Ironman 55 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 near St. Louis. The 55-pound dumbbell awarded to the Ironman 55 winner is one of the few pieces of hardware that has eluded the six-time WoO champion. One goal for Schatz and his TSR team throughout 2015 has been to improve their results from seasons past. Second place is as close as Schatz has come to winning the Outlaws’ longest race of the season, and he is looking forward taking another crack at the one-third mile dirt oval Friday and Saturday nights.

Saldana Had His Hands Full on A Slick Track in Ohsweken, Ontario

OHSWEKEN, Ontario (July 28, 2015) – Tonight was the first of three events in this World of Outlaws swing through the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec.  The first stop was The Six Nations Showdown at Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario, a high-banked 3/8-mile dirt track.

Joey Saldana, who finished second at this track in 2010, was 29th out of 30 competitors in the order for time trials.  The challenge with being late in the qualifying order is usually deteriorating track conditions.  Tonight was no exception, but Saldana was able to push the Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop 71M to a best lap of 14.954-seconds, No. 17 in the qualifying order.
