Sides Records Podium Finish at I-80 and Top 10 During Season Debut at Knoxville

Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 8, 2015) – Jason Sides closed last weekend with a pair of strong performances in the Midwest.
After opening the week by missing a transfer into the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series main event last Wednesday at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Ind., by only one position during both the heat race and the Last Chance Showdown, Sides returned to form beginning on Friday at I-80 Speedway.

He kicked off the NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown by qualifying second quickest during the World of Outlaws event at the high-banked track in Greenwood, Neb.

“I went out early and was quick time until Joey (Saldana) went out and I ended up second,” he said. “Then I just maintained in the heat race to get into the dash. On the start of the dash we got into turn one I had a run on Joey and he turned down and got in front of me. I had to check up and when I did it got on the right front and went up the race track.”

Tony Stewart Racing: Donny Schatz Attica, I-96 World of Outlaws Advance

INDIANAPOLIS (May 27, 2015) – With the way Donny Schatz and his Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance team is producing results at dirt tracks across the country, most observers of the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series would think it’s the middle of July. The Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team picked up its 11th triumph of the season last Friday night in Charlotte and heads into this weekend’s doubleheader in Ohio and Michigan having won of five of the previous seven Outlaw A-Features.

For years, Schatz, driver of the TSR No. 15 Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance J&J, was known for turning up the heat in the summer months and reeling off wins by the bunches. This season, he and his crew of Rick Warner, Steve Swenson and Eric Prutzman have been hitting on all cylinders early in the campaign scoring victories regularly in the first 28 nights of action. And they are working to continue that trend by closing out a busy month of May first in Friday’s Kistler Engines Classic at Attica (Ohio) Raceway Park and Saturday’s NAPA Auto Parts Rumble at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan.

Sides Nearly Garners Top 10s at New Egypt and The Dirt Track at Charlotte

Inside Line Promotions – CONCORD, N.C. (May 25, 2015) – Jason Sides finished just outside of the top 10 during a pair of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series events last week.

Sides kicked off the action on Tuesday at New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt, N.J., where he qualified 15th quickest to narrowly miss locking into the heat race inversion during the Jersey Outlaw Classic. Sides then placed sixth in a heat to advance into the main event, which he started on the inside of the eighth row.

“It seemed like it was fairly racy, but guys were a lot better than me,” he said. “I fell back to about 18th and worked my way to 12 th. We were getting better as the race went on. I think we were too snug and maybe needed a little more gear. It never was free enough until the last five or six laps.”

Sides Battles High Pill Draws During World of Outlaws Races in the Northeast

Inside Line Promotions – WEEDSPORT, N.Y. (May 18, 2015) – The pill draw played a key role last weekend for Jason Sides.
Sides didn’t draw within the top 30 during three World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series events in the Northeast, where the competition was as challenging as the track conditions.

“When you draw bad at some of those places it gets you out of it the entire night unless you get a lucky break in the heat race and cars crash out,” he said. “It’s hard to make that deficit up after you qualify bad.”

That was the case during two races for Sides, whose highlight was on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Sides drew the No. 33 in the pill draw to qualify in the middle of the pack. He timed in eighth quickest, which locked him into the heat race inversion.
