Donny Schatz Eldora Speedway World of Outlaws Advance

INDIANAPOLIS (May 6, 2015) – There’s something special about racing at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Six-time and reigning World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz has raced all across the United States, in three Canadian provinces and at numerous dirt tracks in Australia during the last 20 years, and he has yet to find any place quite like “the Big E” – where the speed itself makes it unique and tradition from hosting some of the sport’s greatest drivers in victory lane is second to none.

This weekend, the driver of Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing’s (TSR) No. 15 Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance J&J will be part of a Friday-Saturday doubleheader being billed as “The Mother of All Sprint Car Weekends.” Schatz, the current WoO points leader, returns to the high-banked, half-mile dirt oval seeking his seventh WoO A-Feature win of 2015 and first at Eldora since the 2009 Kings Royal.

Inside Line Promotions – HAUBSTADT, Ind. (May 5, 2015) – Jason Sides enjoyed a successful weekend with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, which competed at three different tracks in three different states during a three-day span.

The weekend kicked off last Friday at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Okla., where Sides timed in 17th quickest.

“We went out early and I think the track cleaned off or laid a little rubber in qualifying,” he said. “It stayed that way all night. It was rubber down at the start of the feature.”

Sides finished fifth in his heat race and he advanced from 17th to 14th during the main event on the one-lane track.

Schatz Charges Forward

Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) driver Donny Schatz led the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series into the Midwest over the weekend for the first time in 2015 and came away with three top-10 finishes. The driver of the TSR No. 15 Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance J&J improved his finishing position each night, coming home 10th Friday at the Salina (Okla.) Highbanks, sixth Saturday night at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 near St. Louis, and fourth Sunday night at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana.

The theme of the weekend was charging forward during the A-Feature events. Schatz opened the weekend by qualifying 13th in the field of 27 cars at Salina. The six-time and reigning WoO champion advanced from fifth to third in the opening heat to transfer directly into the 25-lap A-Feature. It took three tries to get the A-Feature started and Schatz would have preferred either of the first two attempts to stand as he moved from 13th to eighth on the first attempt and reached ninth on the second start. After a third try, Schatz was back battling for 13th in the early going and began searching for ways to advance on a surface that quickly became one lane because of rubber. He made two late passes to reach 10th, but ran out of laps to climb any higher.

Top-10 Run for McMahan & CJB in the Lone Star State

TELFORD, PA. – April 29, 2015 – As the saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas.

$20,000, a signature cowboy hat and the Ted Johnson Memorial trophy were on the line as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series invaded Devils Bowl Speedway near Mesquite.

“We felt really good going into Devils Bowl,” said Paul McMahan, driver of the Bairs Tree Service, Nyce Crete & Landis Block & Concrete and All Star Performance sponsored #51. “We ran really well there last year and nearly won the opening night. This season, it was a battle with Mother Nature. We lost Friday night to rain and then the track crew had to work feverishly to get the pits into shape for Saturday night. We really appreciated their efforts. Our car was good and we were decent throughout the night. We ran well. Started 8th and made up one spot. We couldn’t really progress during the feature. Wasn’t bad for our only stop in Texas this year but we were hoping for better.”
