Kraig Kinser Tackles Knoxville Nationals Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — August 5, 2014 —There is no week like it the rest of the season. A preliminary night, with heavily inverted and stacked heat races, that can make or break the rest of the week. Crucial event-points earned each time a driver takes the track. Over 100 cars entered for just 24 starting spots. It is a pressure-filled equation called the Knoxville Nationals at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Iowa. Kraig Kinser conquered the biggest event in sprint car racing in 2005, joining his father, Steve, the 12-time winner of the Knoxville Nationals, and the pair remains the only father/son duo to ever win it.

Podium Streak Continues for Schatz

The World of Outlaws (WoO) STP Sprint Car Series staged the two-night Ironman event at Federated Auto Parts Racing at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri Friday and Saturday and, for the third consecutive season, Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Donny Schatz finished second in the season’s longest race. Schatz wheeled the TSR No. 15 STP/Armor All/Crimsafe J&J to his seventh and eighth consecutive podium finishes with Friday’s third-place run and Saturday’s runner-up effort. TSR’s Steve Kinser had a strong run going Saturday in the TSR No. 11 Bad Boy Buggies/J.D. Byrider/Chevrolet Performance Maxim before a broken rear end ended his night 28 laps into the 55-lap marathon.

Ironman 55 Next Challenge for Tony Stewart Racing Tandem

INDIANAPOLIS (July 31, 2014) – Surviving a season on the road with the World of Outlaws (WoO) STP Sprint Car Series may rival competing in an IronMan event. The drivers of the 1300 lb. 900+ horsepower machines aren’t required to bike, swim and run to reach the finish line, but they may feel like after competing 92 nights at dirt tracks of varying sizes all across the United States and five times in Canada. Two of those nights are part of this weekend’s Ironman 55 event at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri.

Throw in the traditional summer heat and humidity of the St. Louis area and every fiber of a driver, their car and team is tested. Kraig Kinser enjoys such challenges as he travels the country with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series competing 80-plus times a season.

The Monroe Shocks and Struts Prelude to the Ironman is set for Friday, August 1 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. The Federated Auto Parts & Batteries Ironman 55 Presented by Walker will hit the track on Saturday, August 2.

NORTH OF THE BORDER: McMahan and CJB Tackle Canada

TELFORD, PA. – July 30, 2014 – Drivers and teams on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series get to travel quite a bit throughout the course of the year.

“The traveling that we get to do is special, ” said McMahan, a California native. “It can be tiring at times but it honestly is one of the perks of the job. Getting to go to Canada is pretty cool each year. The fans up there love sprint car racing and always give us a warm welcome.”

Shark Racing’s Schuchart Finishes Third Sunday And Wins KSE Hard-Charger Award In WoO Action North of the Border

CORNWALL, Ontario, Canada, July 28 — Shark Racing’s Logan Schuchart used a late restart to his advantage and finished third in the 40-lap World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series feature Sunday night at Cornwall Motor Speedway during his first visit ever to the quarter-mile, high-banked clay oval.

Schuchart, of Hanover, Pa., was running fourth when Kyle Fraser spun in Turn 2 to bring out a yellow flag with 39 laps down. World of Outlaws rules stipulate green-white-checkered finishes. Schuchart passed David Gravel, the driver who was third at the drop of the green for the restart, at the exit of Turn 4 working lap 39 for the second time to secure the podium finish with his #1s. His Shark chassis with a Don Ott-prepped engine is sponsored in part by Your Auto Source NAPA Autocare Center, Pell’s Tire Service and Marty Thompson.

Tony Stewart Racing Heading North of the Border

A three-race tour through eastern Canada beginning in Quebec tonight and concluding with two races in Ontario closes out a busy July slate of action for Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Donny Schatz and Steve Kinser.

Schatz and Kinser lead the Outlaws north of the border with races tonight at Autodromme Drummond in Drummondville, Quebec, Sunday at Cornwall (Ontario) Motor Speedway, and at Ohsweken (Ontario) Speedway Tuesday.
