Shark Racing Ready to Attack Florida; Schuchart, Allen Are Looking Forward To WoO Season Opener at Volusia

HANOVER, Pa., Feb. 3 — After a rousing send-off from 300 attendees of Shark Racing’s Fan and Sponsor Appreciation Night in New Oxford, Pa. on Jan. 25, Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allen are on their way to Florida for the season opener of the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series.

The series kicks off with three nights of racing Feb 14-16 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla.  The program is part of the track’s 43rd DIRTcar Nationals presented by Summit Racing Equipment.

HANOVER, Pa., Jan. 15 — It’s not every day that an athlete from York County reaches the international level of sports.

This year there are two.

Logan Schuchart, 21, and Jacob Allen, 19, of Hanover-based Shark Racing are poised to become regular drivers in the World of Outlaws (WoO) STP Sprint Car Series. With 92 nights of racing at 52 different tracks in 24 states and three Canadian provinces in a season that stretches from February to November, it’s the premier sprint car sanctioning body in North America.

Area race fans can help support their effort and give them a “Pennsylvania Posse send-off” by attending the fifth annual Shark Racing Fan/Sponsor Appreciation Night on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Cross Keys Inn Banquet Hall, 6110 York Road, New Oxford, Pa. The admission price is $25 and all proceeds go to Shark Racing.

HANOVER, Pa., Dec. 15 — Bobby Allen, one of the original outlaws, will bring two young guns on the World of Outlaws trail in 2014.

Allen, a member of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and the owner of Shark Racing, will field sprint cars for his grandson, Logan Schuchart, and his son, Jacob Allen, in the World of Outlaws (WoO) STP Sprint Car Series, which features 92 race nights at 52 different tracks in 24 states and three Canadian provinces. The premier traveling sprint car circuit in the nation, it sanctions the prestigious Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, Iowa, which Bobby Allen won in 1990.

Shane Stewart to Pilot No. 2 GoPro Car for Newly-Formed Sprint Car Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 12, 2013) – Today at the Performance Racing Industry Show, Larson Marks Racing unveiled their car, which will run a part-time schedule in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series in 2014. Shane Stewart will drive the No. 2 car for the team next season. Larson Marks Racing (LMR), owned by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Larson and racer and businessman Justin Marks, plans to compete full time in the series in 2015.

“I know I’m still young, but this is something that I have always wanted to do,” said Kyle Larson, co-owner of LMR and a sprint-car standout who will drive full time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2014. “I think Justin and I have put together a really solid team with the potential to have a lot of success, and I think Shane is a fantastic driver. He is one of the best guys on and off the track, and I know he can go out and get it done for our team.”

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Nov. 18, 2013— Each race may be a sprint, but the season is definitely a marathon when competing with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series. The 70-plus race campaign begins in the middle of February and stretches to early November. In between, there are usually peaks and valleys and nearly everything else imaginable with the numbers of races and vast amount of travel that is part of the equation. Kraig Kinser experienced just about all of this in 2013, as he completed another season on the road.

The 2013 World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series season came to a close on Saturday for Craig Dollansky and the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team as they returned to The Dirt Track at Charlotte for the third and final night of the World Finals as ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ prepared for his 31st appearance on the 4/10-mile red clay.

Recording the 10th fastest lap among the 55 cars that qualified on Thursday, Dollansky lined up inside two for heat five.  Needing to finish top-two to earn a spot in the dash, the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim closed the gap on Jac Haudenschild but ran out of laps finishing 3rd in the 8-lap event.

(Nov. 12, 2013) – Although Big Game Motorsports drivers Sammy Swindell and Craig Dollansky were unable to pick up a victory last weekend during the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series season finale at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, the 7th annual World Finals event was considered a success.

“At least we came out of there with a lot of positives,” Swindell said. “It was more learning about stuff for next year. We definitely have a good direction on the motors. We’ve found some things I liked and we were able to do some things with the shocks and the car that are going to be positives. It’s a good way to leave the year.”

WATERTOWN, Conn. — Nov. 10, 2013— Starting in the 24th position in the 30-lap finale of the World Finals for the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series on Saturday, Nov. 9, at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, David Gravel had his work cut out for him. He masterfully used all 30 laps to slice his way through the field, finishing sixth, earning the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger Award aboard his familiar No. 89 FMR Racing/JRC Transportation/Musco Fuel/Model Craft J&J with a Kistler Mopar under the hood.

“I just kind of put my head down in the feature and the car really came alive and we were able to make up a ton of ground,” said Gravel. “We had a disappointing night on Friday, so to come from the back to the front on Saturday and get the Hard Charger Award was the perfect way to wrap up the weekend and the season. We passed a lot of good cars on Saturday night and I am pretty proud of that.”
