David Gravel Returns this Weekend at Clay County & Deer Creek
By DDR Motorsports PR
WATERTOWN, Conn. — Sept. 11, 2013— The last month has certainly been a long one for David Gravel as he battled mononucleosis, which included an enlarged spleen and also a double ear infection, and kept him out of 13 races with World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series. With a clean bill of health and clearance from his doctor, he’ll return to action this weekend with the series in a pair of races in the upper Midwest.

Continues closing gap in World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Aug. 16, 2013 – Donny Schatz is proving once again there isn’t much he can’t do in a racecar.
A week after making history by winning the FVP Knoxville Nationals from the deepest starting position ever, Schatz on Friday night at River Cities Speedway became the first driver to win a World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series A-main in addition to winning a dirt Late Model feature just minutes apart.
In the main event at the 3/10-mile high-banked oval, Schatz powered to his 15th World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series victory of the season, leading all 40 laps and preventing runner-up Cody Darrah from completing a sweep of the Outlaws events at the track after he won there in June.
Championship points-leader Daryn Pittman was third with Brad Sweet and Craig Dollansky rounding out the top five.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—August 5, 2013— Once a driver experiences the thrill of winning sprint car racing’s biggest event — the Knoxville Nationals — it becomes a high priority to win it again. That competitive nature burns inside Kraig Kinser, who claimed the 2005 Knoxville Nationals, in just his third A-Feature start in the sport’s most prestigious event, joining his father Steve, a 12-time winner of the Nationals, as the only father/son duo in history to share the honor. The younger Kinser will join his father this year, sporting the Bad Boy Buggies colors for the four-day event. The paint scheme on Kinser’s car will be unveiled during a press conference at Noon Central on Tuesday, Aug. 6, behind the main grandstand at Knoxville Raceway.

TOP 10 FINISH FOR SALDANA IN THE IRONMAN
PEVELY, Mo. (August 3, 2013) – After the first day of the World of Outlaws Ironman 55 weekend was rained out, the Motter Equipment Fatheadz Eyewear 71M team was eager to hit the dirt and get some laps on their new GF1 sprint car chassis.
But before any racing activity began, Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 co-owner and veteran NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Ken Schrader walked over to the Motter team pit area and presented WoOSTP Sprint Car driver Joey Saldana with one of his helmets. Saldana has collected drivers’ helmets for a number of years.
“This is really special,” said a jubilant Saldana. “Ken can drive anything with wheels and has been successful at every level of racing in which he has competed. I am a huge fan of Ken’s. You can be sure this helmet will have a real place of honor in my collection.”

Located just south of St. Louis, Missouri, 34 drivers signed in for competition with the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim turning the 9th fastest lap in qualifying. Earning a front row starting position for heat race one, Dollansky powered into the lead and raced to the checkered flag to earn a spot in the dash. A favorable six pill inversion then put the #7 outside pole for the dash and, similar to the heat, the Elk River, Minnesota native motored to the win to claim his 5th pole position this season.
