Tony Stewart Racing Tandem Can’t Escape Bad Luck in Tulare
Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) had rough weekend in California’s Central Valley as the World of Outlaws (WoO) STP Sprint Car Series kicked off the first of five consecutive weekends of dirt-track action in the Golden State. Both TSR drivers, five-time and reigning series champion Donny Schatz and 20-time WoO titlist Steve Kinser, endured some frustrating outcomes in the weekend doubleheader at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif.
Dollansky Tops Tulare for First Win of 2013
Another night of action on the tight 1/3-mile bullring of Thunderbowl Raceway was on tap Saturday for Craig Dollansky and the rest of the STP World of Outlaws following a top-ten performance by the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team the prior night.
Kraig Kinser Earns Ninth-Place Finish in Finale at Tulare
Bloomington, Ind.—March 17, 2013— There are a few tracks on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series circuit that really test a driver’s mettle. One of those is Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. The high-banked, third-mile usually requires a driver to “sit up in the seat” a little more than normal and get their “elbows up.” That was definitely the case on the opening night of the World of Outlaws two-night event at the track this past weekend. The finale presented a completely different challenge as the track was very slick and tough to pass on. Kraig Kinser battled both nights and was able to come away with a ninth-place finish in the finale as well as earning the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger Award in the opener.

Following a runner-up performance during last year’s event, Friday marked the 15th appearance for ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ at the 1/3-mile dating back to 2004.

Last weekend the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team returned to Tucson International Raceway for the first time in six years. This weekend the STP World of Outlaws early season West Coast swing heads to Thunderbowl Raceway beginning on Friday, March 15th, which commences a lengthy streak into late July before the series has its next Friday without a scheduled event.
